The Lieksa Border Heritage House in Timitra, located next to the Lieksa Border Guard Station, offers an authentic glimpse into the history of border patrol. The exhibits, photos, and texts at the Heritage House take you back in time, with guided tours available upon request if your group books one in advance.

The Border Heritage House is open in July according to a pre-announced schedule; otherwise, it is open by appointment only.
