Lieksa Brass Week is one of the world’s most prominent brass music festivals. Every summer, the greatest masters of brass music from around the world gather in the small town of Lieksa to perform, meet one another, and, most importantly, teach talented young musicians from around the world.
Stunning acoustics and pristine nature
The main venue for the Lieksa Brass Week concert series is the masterpiece of architects Reima and Raili Pietilä, Lieksa Church, whose acoustics are unparalleled and whose beauty delights the eyes of hundreds of concertgoers every day of the festival. The festival’s other main venue, the Brahe Hall at the Lieksa Cultural Center, is a 400-seat modern concert hall with excellent acoustics for brass music, located in the heart of Lieksa.
The uniqueness of Lieksa Brass Week is highlighted by the vast wilderness surrounding the town, including Koli National Park and Lake Pielinen, one of Finland’s largest and cleanest lakes.
