Miikkulanlampi

Änäkäinen

The scenic Änäkäinen fly-fishing area is located on pine-covered ridges along the Kivivaara road. Ponds and lakes dot the area, and the row of Salpa Line tank barriers lends the area a military-historical atmosphere.
Saarijärvi is the most popular spot in Änäkäinen for rainbow trout fishing. In addition, the lakes and ponds yield large perch and pike. The trails and rest areas make it a great destination for a family fishing trip.
Lieksanjoki

The Lieksanjoki is a river flowing into Lake Pielinen as part of the Vuoksi water system, drawing most of its water from the Russian side of the eastern border. The Lieksanjoki permit area is extensive, and you can catch zander, whitefish, ide, pike, and perch there. Near the Ruunaa Hiking Area, you can also catch stocked rainbow trout and lake trout.
Sokojoki
A natural river route near Lieksa. There are approximately 15 km of rapids and fast-flowing sections suitable for fishing between the Lieksanjoki River and Lake Pitkäjärvi. The Sokojoki is particularly well-suited for fly fishermen, and you can catch wild trout, grayling, whitefish, and pike.
Pielinen

Lake Pielinen, Finland’s fourth-largest lake, is a wild and diverse destination for anglers. Pielinen is an excellent place for trolling and, in winter, net fishing. Native species in the waters of Pielinen include perch, zander, pike, whitefish, and grayling. Stocked species include lake trout, lake char, and Arctic char.
Suomunjärvi

The beautiful, sandy-shored Lake Suomunjärvi offers not only hiking but also opportunities for fishing. In Lake Suomunjärvi, you can fish for vendace, whitefish, and large perch, among others. A proper picnic meal is made at the campfire site, topped off with your own catch.
Suomunjärvi is located within the Patvinsuo National Park, so it’s a good idea to check the permit requirements in advance.
